Russia's top propagandist, Margarita Simonyan, just dropped a bombshell.

In a recent state TV appearance, she proudly boasted about Russia's shadowy 'covert projects' aimed at swaying public opinion in the West about the war in Ukraine.  Simonyan claims these projects are having a major impact, shifting the narrative so dramatically that Ukraine's allies are 'all so jumpy.' She argues that the reason Ukraine is struggling is due to a shortage of ammunition, claiming that Western allies are squabbling among themselves about providing aid.

Is this really the case, or is Simonyan simply spinning a tale to downplay Russia's own struggles? And how effective are these 'covert projects' truly? It's hard to say for sure, but it's clear that Russia is pulling out all the stops to shape the narrative around the war. 'working with public opinion is a weapon,' as Simonyan herself put it.
