A Life Well Lived: Kim Michael Oliver's Journey

Kim Michael Oliver, who passed away at 73 in Scarborough, left behind a legacy of love, work, and play. Born in Portland in 1952, Kim's life was marked by significant milestones. He graduated from South Portland High School in 1970 and later earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine Portland-Gorham in 1974. Kim's career was diverse. He started at his family's business, Oliver Vending & Music Systems, Inc. , for a decade. Later, he joined Marriott In-Flite Services at Logan International Airport, taking on various roles. In 1989, he moved to the Portland International Jetport, where he held several managerial positions. In 2000, Kim became the business manager for Agency 1 Real Estate in Scarborough, a role he held until the company was sold in 2010. After that, he managed rental properties for Maine Properties before retiring in 2015. Kim's personal life was as rich as his professional one. He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, and hiking with friends Joe, Malcolm, Steve, and Bill. He was close with longtime friends Charlotte and Jon Kelley. Every Friday, he played Scrabble with Betsy Maxwell, a friend of both him and his wife, Lynn. Kim's family was extensive. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn; his brothers Donald, Brian, and Peter; his sister, Dr. Melissa Hudson; his daughters Heather and Jessica; his sons Jordan, Tyler, and Nathan; and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathleen Coffin, and brother-in-law, Kerry Norton. Kim was a devoted grandfather, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and even acting as a bus driver for his granddaughter London. He was also a great-grandfather to Priscilla, Marley, and Jameson. Kim's passing was due to pancreatic cancer, with his wife by his side. He was predeceased by his parents. Lynn expressed gratitude to the hospice team and the Gosnell team for their care during Kim's final days. Per Kim's request, there will be no services. His life was a testament to hard work, love, and friendship.
