A Local Hero Leads the Way

The Fourth of July parade in Coeur d’Alene is a big deal. Everyone turns out to watch it. This year, Charlie Nipp is the grand marshal. He has a long history with the parade. As a kid, he walked with his parents to watch it. He always wondered who the grand marshal was. Now, he is the grand marshal. Nipp is not sure he deserves the honor. He thinks there are many others in the community who are just as deserving. He has spent his life giving back to the community. He co-founded Parkwood Business Properties. It is a big deal in the area. The company develops and manages many types of properties. Nipp's work has helped shape the local economy. Nipp's impact goes beyond business. He has served on many boards and foundations. He has received many awards for his work. He was even inducted into the State of Idaho Hall of Fame. His wife, Susan, is also well-known. She wrote the Mudgy and Millie children's books. Nipp grew up in Coeur d’Alene. He went to Coeur d’Alene High School. He was on the state champion basketball team. He also has degrees from Whitworth College and Portland State University. His education and experiences have helped him make a big difference in the community. Nipp learned about community from watching the Fourth of July parades as a kid. He saw many role models and mentors. He has carried that spirit of community with him throughout his life. He has helped shape Coeur d’Alene's spirit of generosity and excellence. His work has transformed the region. He has lifted countless lives. The Fourth of July parade is a time to honor the community and the country. Nipp is proud to be a part of it. He is proud of what the region has accomplished.
