A New Cape Cod Spot Mixes Food, Wellness, and Magic

West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, USAFri May 15 2026
A Cape Cod hotel is rolling out a restaurant that’s more than just a place to eat. The Uncommoner Hotel in West Yarmouth is launching Gypsy Sol on May 15, blending meals with wellness activities like tarot readings, sound baths, and yoga sessions. The delay from late 2025 to now wasn’t just about construction—it was about making sure the space was built to last without harming the environment. The restaurant’s outdoor deck overlooks Lewis Bay, offering fire pits and cozy seating. Inside, the vibe mixes relaxed luxury with bohemian touches, featuring shared plates like seared tuna with grapefruit and crab-crusted local fish. Drinks go beyond the usual—think zodiac-themed cocktails served in smoking cauldrons. But is this just a trendy gimmick, or can dining and wellness truly coexist?
Chef Mark Cina, who’s worked in Michelin-starred kitchens, is behind the menu. His dishes highlight New England seafood and global flavors, with options like oysters with caviar and lamb kofta. The hotel’s other new addition, Arcana Cafe, serves coffee and pastries, rounding out a full-day experience. The hotel itself, part of a small collection, draws inspiration from 1930s Marseille. It’s not just about the rooms—shared spaces include pools, lawn games, and communal fire pits. Opening week is expected to be a little rough around the edges, but that’s part of the charm.
