Wrtn, a South Korean tech firm, has just announced that its new AI entertainment platform is expected to bring in over $100 million this year. The service, called “Crack” in Korea and “Kyarapu” in Japan, lets users jump into stories where they become the main character. Unlike other AI chatbots that act as friends, Wrtn’s tool writes novels, pictures and sounds on the spot based on what the user chooses. This keeps the experience fresh and reduces worries about privacy or data misuse.
The company launched in Korea last year and opened up to Japan early this year. Even with those short windows, Wrtn already earned about $70 million in yearly revenue by the end of 2025. Users spend roughly two hours each day on the app, a time frame similar to watching Netflix or YouTube. Those who pay keep coming back more than 70% of the time, showing strong loyalty.
Wrtn’s founder, Lee Seyoung, said that the company is now planning to reach $700 million in yearly sales by 2027. That would be ten times what it made last year, and the plan is to take the company public in 2028 or later. The IPO could happen either in Korea or in the United States, where Wrtn hopes to launch by June next year. The startup has already raised about 130 billion won, and it will seek another round of funding this year to support its growth.
