Bus Routes: What's Changing and Why You Should Care

Colorado Springs, USAFri Aug 01 2025

Mountain Metro Transit is proposing some changes to bus routes that could impact your commute. Will these changes help or hinder your daily travels?

Why the Changes?

Transit systems evolve to meet community needs. More people may be heading to certain areas, or some routes may not be as efficient as they could be. The goal is to improve the system for everyone.

Proposed Changes

  • Route 3: Adding a stop at the new Dillon Mobility Hub in Manitou Springs.
  • Route 9: Extending service on weekends.
  • Route 32: Adjusting timepoints for better connections with Fountain Municipal Transit.
  • Route 33: Major overhaul with new stops, removed stops, and frequency changes.
  • Route 36: Being eliminated due to changes in Routes 3 and 33.
  • Routes 34, 38, and 39: Adding more stops and timepoint changes.

Share Your Thoughts

The deadline for feedback is August 14. Whether you're a daily bus rider or just someone who cares about efficient public transit, your opinion matters. Share your thoughts and help shape the future of Mountain Metro Transit.

questions

How will the addition of the new stop on Route 3 impact the overall travel time for passengers?
Will the new stop on Route 3 be so popular that passengers will need to bring snacks for the extended wait times?
Are the changes to Route 33 part of a larger plan to monitor passenger behavior during peak and off-peak seasons?
