Former 'Home Improvement' Actor Faces New Domestic Violence Charge
Myrtle Beach, USAFri Jan 03 2025
Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role as Brad Taylor in the '90s sitcom 'Home Improvement, ' found himself in trouble again. This time, he was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on a second-degree domestic violence charge. The arrest happened on New Year's Day and was confirmed by jail records. A judge set a $10, 000 bond for Bryan, who remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center as of Friday morning.
Details about the incident are still emerging. WMBF News has requested the incident report and arrest warrants to understand what led to Bryan's arrest. This isn't the first time he's faced legal issues. Bryan was arrested twice in 2024 for DUI, once in California and once in Oklahoma. He also faced charges for assault, robbery, and harassment in a domestic incident in 2023.
In 2020, Bryan was arrested and charged with domestic violence after allegedly strangling a woman who later became his fiancée. He was sentenced to 36 months of probation and ordered to participate in a program called Bridges2Safety.
Bryan's brushes with the law raise important questions about rehabilitation and the recurrence of similar offenses. It also highlights the need for society to critically examine the patterns of behavior and the effectiveness of intervention programs.
