Golden Oyster Mushroom Infusion Fights Oxidative Stress
Researchers prepared two liquid forms from the mushroom. An infusion and a decoction were both tested for their chemical content. Lab screening revealed that both extracts contain flavonoids, phenols, and other antioxidants. The study aimed to catalog what each liquid holds before measuring activity. Water-based preparation allowed the team to isolate compounds without harsh solvents.
When measured, the infusion showed higher total phenolics. The decoction had slightly more of certain flavonoids and vitamins like beta carotene and vitamin C. Antioxidant tests confirmed the infusion scavenges free radicals more effectively. It also displayed stronger metal-binding and reducing power. These differences suggest each extract may offer distinct benefits for health-focused products.
