Lego's Super Mario Expansion: Diddy Kong's Mine Cart Ride on Sale
USAFri Apr 18 2025
Lego has brought back some of its Super Mario sets, including the popular Donkey Kong-themed ones. One of the standout deals is the Diddy Kong's Mine Cart Ride set, which is now nearly 50% off. This set, originally priced at $110, is now available for $58. It's the largest Donkey Kong-related Lego set, with 1, 157 pieces, and one of the most detailed Super Mario expansion sets out there.
The Diddy Kong's Mine Cart Ride set lets fans recreate some of the classic challenges from the games, like mine cart rides, airplane flights, and rock explosions. It comes with four figures: Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Snaggles, and a Mole Miner. Plus, figures from the Super Mario starter sets, like Mario, Luigi, and Peach, can interact with this set. Speaking of starter sets, Amazon has discounts on all three of them.
If the Diddy Kong set is too big or too pricey, there are smaller Donkey Kong sets available too. Dixie Kong's Jungle Jam is now $19, down from $28, and the Rambi the Rhino figure set is $11. These sets were also discontinued last year, so this is a great chance to grab them.
For those who missed out on Donkey Kong's Tree House set, there's another way to get a Donkey Kong figure. The Lego Mario Kart series includes the Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo set for $29. 74. It's not the same as the Tree House set, but it's a fun alternative. The Mario Kart series has six playsets, and there are discounts on some of them. Plus, Lego is releasing a massive 1, 972-piece Mario Kart display model for adults in May.
All of these sets are great for fans of Super Mario and Donkey Kong. They offer a fun way to build and play, and they're a nice addition to any Lego collection. But remember, prices and availability can change quickly, so if you see something you like, don't wait too long. It might not be there tomorrow.
