Metro Transit has some big wins that make riding the bus or train a good choice for many. One cool thing is that you can bring your bike along. Nicole Najmon from New Hope uses her bike and the bus together. She says the bike racks on buses are safe and easy to use. Each rack holds two bikes, so if it's full, you just wait for the next bus. This mix of biking and bus riding makes her trips smooth and stress-free.
Another plus is that the trains and buses are usually clean and have seats available. Samantha Sarmiento from New Hope noticed this on the Green Line. She got on at Nicollet station in downtown Minneapolis and found it easy to get a seat. Of course, it might be different during busy times, like after a Twins game, but overall, the cleanliness and space are appreciated.
The climate control on Metro Transit vehicles is another big plus. Lucia Rojas, a friend of Sarmiento, pointed out that the buses and trains stay warm in the winter. This makes riding comfortable, no matter the weather outside.
The system also goes to important places, like the Mall of America, downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, and even downtown St. Paul. Muhammed Lone, who rides to the University of Minnesota, finds this very useful. He also likes that tracking apps work well. He can check when the next train is coming and time his departure perfectly.
For some, riding the train is even faster than driving. Chloe Pemberton from Minneapolis says the Green Line is more direct and sometimes quicker than a car. This might depend on her specific route and the time of day, but it shows that public transit can be a speedy option.
