Young artists in Osceola County have a reason to celebrate. Their creative work is now featured in the 2026 Calendar of Energy Conservation. This calendar is more than just a way to keep track of dates. It's a colorful reminder to save energy and protect the environment. The contest received a whopping 1, 748 entries from 18 elementary schools. Judges picked 12 winners, each representing a month of the year. The grand prize went to a student from Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Their artwork will not only grace the calendar cover but also be displayed on a KUA fleet vehicle throughout 2026. The winners didn't just get recognition. They also received cash prizes. Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Lakeview Elementary School got extra rewards too. They received art supplies worth $750 and $500 respectively. This is because they submitted the most entries in the contest. Meanwhile, the Osceola REALTORS recently honored some of their own. These awards celebrate those who have made a big impact on the Association and the community. Winners include individuals and organizations who have shown outstanding commitment and support. The awards range from recognizing new members to honoring those with decades of service. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also made headlines. They donated emergency funds to 60 food pantries in the Southeastern United States. This donation will help feed over 400, 000 people facing food insecurity. In Osceola County alone, 40, 000 people will benefit from this act of kindness. The Osceola Response Team, founded by Richard Herr, expressed gratitude for this support. They believe it will bring many blessings to Kissimmee, St. Cloud, and the wider community. These stories show how local efforts can make a big difference. Whether it's through art, real estate, or community support, people are finding ways to contribute and make an impact.
