SNL's Comedy Hits: Trump, Gaetz, and More!
Manhattan, NY, New York City, USASun Dec 15 2024
"Saturday Night Live" (SNL) kicked off its weekend update with some laughs, targeting President-elect Donald Trump and his associates. First up was the story of United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson getting shot in Manhattan. Host Colin Jost joked that the nation was already debating who'd play Thompson in a Netflix miniseries. He also pointed out the irony of the accused shooter's corporate dislike, given he was spotted at Starbucks and McDonald's before and after the incident.
Jost and co-anchor Michael Che then took turns poking fun at Trump and company. They noted Trump's Time magazine "Man of the Year" title, with Jost saying, "No one has taken as much of our time. " Che brought up Matt Gaetz's new One America Network show, comparing it to covering school dances.
Che also joked about RFK Jr. 's anti-polio vaccine stance, saying, "It's not Christmas without some Tiny Tims. " And he cracked wise about Elon Musk's comments on Trump and the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, suggesting Trump got her pregnant.
The segment also featured cast members Andrew Dismukes and Jane Wickline. Dismukes talked about a UK court ruling that considered calling someone bald as harassment. Wickline sang a song about wanting internet rumors about her sexuality to boost her career.
