The Evolution of Power: How a Grassroots Movement is Redefining Leadership

A network of influential Black female leaders who are not only powerful in their own right, but also have the ability to mobilize millions of dollars in funding and talent behind a single cause. This is the reality of the "Unite for America" movement, led by Jotaka Eaddy, a 45-year-old social impact consultant who started her group, Win With Black Women (WWBW), during the 2020 presidential election. Eaddy's vision is to empower Black women to take center stage and exercise their collective economic power to demand a seat at the table.
The movement began as a weekly Zoom call, where Eaddy would gather a group of influential Black women to strategize and support each other. The call was originally intended as a way for the women to financially support Kamala Harris's presidential campaign, but it quickly evolved into a powerful network of women who were committed to fundraising and advocating for other Black women candidates.
The call has become a staple of the movement, with nearly every Black woman candidate running for a major office joining the call. The women on the call are not just ordinary individuals; they are CEOs, executives, and leaders in various industries. They come together to share their skills, expertise, and resources to support each other and other Black women who are seeking to make a difference.
The movement is not just about fundraising; it's also about black women taking control of their own destinies and exercising their collective power. Eaddy believes that Black women have always been powerful, but behind the scenes. Now, they are stepping into the spotlight and demanding recognition.
