Summary

Kyiv: An Encyclopedic Handbook or Kyiv: Encyclopedic Reference Book is the first universal encyclopaedic reference book about Kyiv published by the Main Editorial Board of the Ukrainian Soviet Encyclopedia, under the lead editorship of Anatoliy Kudritskiy. It was published in 1981 in Ukrainian. A Russian translation was first published in 1982. The second Russian edition came out in 1985 and 1986, and the third Russian edition in 1986. The book was prepared for the celebration of the so-called 1500th anniversary of Kiev in 1982.
