But more information doesn't always mean better matches. OkCupid found that telling users they were compatible was more important than actually being compatible.

AI might be able to help with matching, but it's not clear how it can predict chemistry. People tend to couple with those who are similar to them, but there's no simple rule for what makes people click. Even psychologists don't have all the answers. Attachment theory, for example, can help people understand their own tendencies, but it doesn't provide a clear guide for choosing partners.

AI dating apps promise to make finding love easier, but they can't replace the work that goes into building a relationship. And even if they could, would you want a machine to find your perfect match? Love is complicated and unpredictable, which is what makes it special.
