Imagine a sprawling, inflatable sports dome, cradling two fields, and bustling with activity 24/7. Sounds like a game-changer, right?  A 142,000-square-foot dome on a 48-acre site in Tinley Park. But what's the big idea?  Will it bring in the crowds and breathe new life into the area? Or will it be a non-starter? 

The dome would be used primarily for training in sports like baseball and soccer, with limited space for competitive play.  Will it cater to locals or attract visitors from afar?  What's the plan for parking – 370 vehicles, according to the proposal?  Will it be a blessing or a curse for surrounding businesses? 

The project is not the only game in town, though. Topgolf, the multilevel outdoor driving range, is already approved and set to open in the area.  What's the potential for conflict or synergy between the two?  Will they complement each other or create a competition for attention? Some questions remain unanswered. 

What's the timeline for construction and opening?  How will the dome's polystyrene fabric roof withstand the elements?  What's the plan for maintenance and upkeep?  What's the expected impact on the local economy? Can a sports dome revive Tinley Park's economy?
