The Today show crew recently gathered to honor Uche Ojeh, the husband of cohost Sheinelle Jones. He sadly passed away from a severe form of brain cancer at the age of 45.  The crew wanted to highlight Ojeh's life and the love he shared with his family and friends.  They wanted to honor his legacy and the impact he had on those around him.

Ojeh was known for his vibrant spirit and quiet strength. He brought joy and warmth to every room he entered. His deep faith and love for his family were always at the core of who he was.  He was a devoted soccer player, a choir member at his church, and a proud Nigerian.  He made sure his children grew up with a strong connection to their cultural heritage.  He was a devoted husband and a loving father to three children.

Jones and Ojeh met at Northwestern University in the late '90s. They were college sweethearts who married in Philadelphia in 2007. Together, they had three children: Kayin, 15, and twins Clara and Uche, 12.  They were a happy family who supported each other in all aspects of life.

The crew wanted to honor Jones for her strength during her husband's battle with cancer. They admired her ability to find grace in her grief.  They wanted the world to know how much they loved Ojeh and how much they cared for Jones and her family.

The crew shared personal stories about Ojeh.  They talked about how funny he was and how humble he was.  They spoke about how much he loved his children and how proud he was of them.  They wanted the world to know what a great man he was and how much he will be missed.

Jones has been absent from the Today show since mid-December. She first joined the network in 2014 and typically cohosts the third hour of the show. In January, she took to Instagram to explain to her followers that she was taking care of a "family health matter. "  She thanked her followers for their support and kindness.

The crew wanted to send their love and support to Jones and her family. They wanted them to know that they are not alone in their grief.  They wanted them to know that they are part of the Today show family and that they will always be there for them.
