Bringing digital tools into nursing isn't easy. It involves juggling tech issues, workplace culture, staff skills, and the bigger healthcare picture all at once. While frameworks like NASSS try to explain this mess, turning those ideas into something nurses can actually use every day is tough. That's where a new tool called the Nursing Implementation Complexity Tool, or NICT, comes in.
Researchers built the NICT using a method called Design Science Research. They went through four rounds of development, testing, and tweaking. To shape the tool, they looked at lots of past studies, ran three real-world case studies, and used a German version of the NASSS assessment tool.
