A new tool, the Chinese Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Positive Identity Measure (C-LGB-PIM), has been developed. The scale also demonstrated structural validity, explaining a significant portion of the variance in LGB identity. This indicates that the tool measures what it intends to measure. Convergent validity was robust, showing positive associations with well-being indicators. This suggests that a strong positive LGB identity is linked to better mental health. Additionally, the tool showed discriminant validity, with no significant links to distress indicators. This means that the tool does not confuse positive identity with negative outcomes.

The C-LGB-PIM has proven to be a reliable and valid tool for assessing LGB positive identity in China. This is a big deal. It provides researchers with a culturally sensitive instrument.
