July 4th, 2025, is a big deal in the U. S. It's the day Americans celebrate their independence with big parties, fireworks, and lots of food. But before you rush out, know that many places will be closed. It's a federal holiday, so government offices, banks, and some shops won't be open. Plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

First, let's talk about food. If you need to grab something, big stores like Target and Walmart will be open. Most grocery stores under Kroger, like Fred Meyer and Ralphs, will also be open, but check local hours. Whole Foods and Food Lion will be open as usual, but Trader Joe's will close early at 5 p. m. ALDI will close at 4 p. m. Sam's Club will be open, but hours depend on your membership. Costco, however, will be closed.

Need to shop for something else? Most TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls will be open until 8 p. m. Nordstrom, JCPenney, and Macy's will have normal hours. Dollar General and Dollar Tree will also be open, but hours may vary. If you need beauty products, Sephora and Ulta Beauty will be open.

Pharmacies will have mixed hours. CVS will be open, but some may have reduced hours. Walgreens stores will be open, but most pharmacies will be closed. Rite Aid will be open as usual.

Banks and financial services will be closed. The stock market won't be open, and most bank branches will be closed. But you can still use online banking and ATMs. The postal service won't be delivering mail. UPS and FedEx won't have regular services, but they do have options for urgent deliveries.

Government offices, like the DMV and public libraries, will be closed. So, if you need to do something official, you'll have to wait until Monday.
