Amazon's new role in the James Bond franchise has sparked some surprise and concern.

Timothy Dalton, who played Bond in the late 1980s, was taken aback by the news. He's not the only one.  The Bond franchise has always been a family affair. Cubby Broccoli, Barbara Broccoli's father, was a key figure in the franchise. He had a strong vision for the films.  He was a powerful and strong anchor for the project.  Dalton got along well with him.  Dalton was saddened by his passing.  Dalton was shocked to find out that Amazon is now in charge.  Dalton is worried that the new films might not capture the original spirit of Bond.

Dalton thinks the Bond franchise is special.  It has changed over the years.  Dalton hopes Amazon will bring back the excitement and fun of the original films.  Dalton is not sure if Amazon will be able to do this.  Dalton is not sure if Amazon will be able to make good movies.  Dalton is not sure if Amazon will be able to make a lot of money.

The new deal means Amazon will have creative control over 007.  The financial details of the deal are not public.  There is speculation that Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson got a big payday from Amazon.  There is speculation that they will still have some say in the franchise.

Dalton is starring in the second season of 1923 on Paramount+.  He plays Donald Whitfield, a land baron who wants to take over the Yellowstone ranch.  Dalton is hoping that Amazon will be able to make good movies.  Dalton is hoping that Amazon will be able to make a lot of money.
